PODCAST STUDIO FAQ
IS THERE PARKING AT ONEFINEPLAY, OLD STREET?
Unfortunately, no. However, we are right by Exit 3 of Old Street Tube station - super easy to find - just turn left and look up! It’ll say WHITE COLLAR FACTORY in big letters. You can’t miss it.
WHAT EQUIPMENT IS IN THE RECORDING STUDIO?
Our studio is equipped with:
2 x Sony A7S
3 x Rode Procaster microphones
1 x Zoom H6 recorder
1 x iMac
2 x Softbox lights
1 x Soundproof curtain
1 x Overhead spotlights
DO I NEED A SOUND ENGINEER FOR MY RECORDING SESSION?
A OneFinePlay staff member will always be available to start and finish your session. This includes a sound check, starting the recording of both the audio and cameras and constant monitoring during your session. If you are new to podcasting we can also help you with the best practices.
DO I NEED TO BE A MEMBER TO RECORD?
Not at all. Anyone can reserve our studio. Then again, you should check it out — our exclusive podcast network membership comes with some serious perks, including cheaper studio time and earlybird access to all our events.
IF I'M AN AUDIO NOVICE, CAN I STILL USE THE STUDIO?
Of course. Our studio is designed to enable anyone, from beginners to seasoned pros, to create seamless, high quality content. You won’t need to touch any mixing boards or configure any recording software during your session.
DO YOU PROVIDE EDITING SERVICES?
Yes. Your audio (and video, if you choose) will be cleaned up and delivered back to you within 24 hours.
NOTE: This is a technical post-production process only (removing ums and errs, adding an intro music bed if required etc.), and NOT a full creative or narrative edit - these services are an additional cost.
HOW DOES MY AUDIO GET RECORDED DURING THE SESSION?
In the studio, we record through our microphones to a Zoom H6 recorder, which records at 48,000 Hz and 32 bit.
DO I NEED TO BRING ANYTHING TO MY SESSION?
There's nothing you need to bring. If you want to bring a USB and take away the raw recording at the end of the session, you can. You are also welcome to bring in any props you might want to use and, of course, any notes that may help with your delivery.
WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL OR RESCHEDULE MY SESSION?
Please cancel or reschedule more than 24 hours before your session. Otherwise, we will charge you for the session as it prevents someone else from booking during that time.
